Wow, two weeks in a row with a home bound Friday…enough already! We get it… we’re not in charge… okay, we’re loosening the grip! The word for this week is SEEKER.
Seeker: this is such an intriguing word. It can be applied in so many directions, but in the spiritual realm, it sounds rather mystical to me. A seeker is on a journey looking for answers: illumination, unveiling, transformation. Although the word implies action, we mostly find the answers we’re seeking in the stillness… through the arms and legs of meditation and prayer. It can be hard for us to remember how important it is to find that solitude. We plow through our days with abandon. With the constant busyness and frenetic pounding on the hamster wheel of life, we forget to say “Here I am Lord”; to be a seeker. Often times we get lost along the way and things begin to cloud and look futile.
I think I will unofficially change the adage “Sink or Swim” to, “Sink or Seek”. In this life we all accumulate devastating scars: the diagnosis of a life threatening disease (check), the unbearable loss of a loved one (check), a divorce (check check). Whatever the situation, whatever your checklist, we don’t just breeze through life unscathed. But if we still ourselves we can faintly feel that nudge to look God-ward. It stirs us to search, stretch and grow spiritually. And as seekers, we are turning our hearts to the Light, the Peace, and the Grace of God… we are claiming that sacred Relationship that has been ours all along.
“People take different roads seeking fulfillment and happiness. Just because they’re not on your road doesn’t mean they’ve gotten lost.” H. Jackson Brown Jr.

Hey Bonnie, I have the statement “Some days you get feathers, Some days you get chicken on my ‘frig. Now I am also going to add “Sink or Seek”. What a wonderful and positive reminder.
